When I was about 12 years old, I had a problem with one of my schoolmates.
It really angered me. She told one of our friends that if she
continued to get all "A"s on her reports, tests and other school work, that
she would beat her up.
(here, I will change the names). My new enemy, Barbara, threatened
this quiet sweet gentle and very intelligent girl, Martha. Me, the
Avenger, told Barbara that if she laid a hand on Martha, I would beat her
up. Martha said to me to not worry because she knew my mom would be
very mad at me if I had another fight. So, Barbara thought this meant
I wasn't going to do anything and followed with "I am going to give you until
Monday, and you better not get an "A"! Barbara left us alone.
For the rest of the week and the weekend, I worried and agonized over Martha's
predicament because her father would kill her if she failed in school.
Failure to her father as a "B". I knew Martha was going to sit
around the house and not do her homework so she would get a lower grade and
I was angry.
The next Monday, I ran out of the house with my slip and on the way to school,
one of my friends noticed it. So, I went home and put on my skirt and
then tried to catch up to them. They were no place in site. Then
I decided to see if Martha was ready, as she was almost always late for school.
On the way, I met a cute young man, brown her, fair skin, delicate
features. I asked him if he was new in the neighborhood. He said
"Yes". I asked him what house they lived in (there were a lot of new
houses on that street) and he pointed. I figured I would see him later
and if not, in school. So, I told him I was late for school and hoped
to see him there. He said "Don't fight." Then I angrily argued
with him like I had argued with everyone else concerning Martha and Barbara.
And I wondered how he knew about it. He said "Everybody knows".
I said "Well, if you keep Barbara from picking on Martha, I would not
fight." He said something to the effect about being peaceful. Then,
he said goodbye and left toward his house. I wanted to ask him his
name so I turned around to call to him and he was gone... completely... no
trace. I said to myself, he really runs fast!
When I got to Martha's house, she was coming out the door and we went to
school together. Barbara said nothing when the teacher said Marthat
got an A on her homework assignment. I believed at the time that Barbara
was afraid of me. However, when I began working with the Angels, I
realized that the little boy was Jesus and it was he who had changed Barbara's
heart. Of course, I never saw him again in that neighborhood, either.
