I boarded up that window and let Ra and Helen have their life. I began
to focus more on running our household and took a sincere interest
in my husband's affairs. We became equal partners in business. We
made decisions and traveled to San Francisco together. Sometimes, Helen
and Ra joined us. I wrote my mom and announced I was going to have
a baby. She would come and help me when the time came. Alta and I planned
to send her tickets.
