Temple City

The citizens harvested flowers, usually red, and sometimes, multicolored for the week long festival so that the Temple City smelled like a beautiful and paradaisical perfume.  

I found the flowers on Aruba  in 1989 which closely resembled the original painting above. The actual flower is Impatiens, of which I could find no images on the web.  So, I have linked to flowers that are similar... Pacifica
