Babylon 5 and Telepathy (ESP)

Telepathy is a common theme on B5. Lyta Alexander and Talia Winters are seen more on B5 in their telepathic capacity than Bester and his Team. Less seen are the Centauri and Minbari telepaths. Once the Shadows vulnerability to telepaths was discovered, they could be destroyed. Telepaths on B5 generally used more physical energy for control than is necessary. Telepathy is a mental discipline and when adding physical force makes it tiring on the individual and its percipient. The Minbari telepaths were more comfortable and used less physical energy to achieve their objective; they also tired out, but not as much physically as mentally.

A basic and fundamental definition of telepathy is mind to mind communication. It is 2-way communication. If one is communicating with the mind, such as with the 3rd space artifact and the people of B5, it is not really telepathy, it is mind control. The artifact received a response on an emotional level, not on a conscious communicative level as is the case with 2-way telepathic communication.

Lyta and Talia used mind reading more than telepathy, as did Bester and his team. When Talia was with her lover/teacher, they used telepathy. When Lyta and Byron were together, they used telepathy. When any of them did a search and locate for information, they used mind reading. Mind reading involves vision which is called clairvoyance, listening, which is called perception, and conscious knowledge. When looking for someone on a planet, their perceptions were activated to see, hear and know without the 5 senses.

When Lyta wanted information that was vital to B5 administrators, she used psychic force which can be deadly to non-pschic persons. Many people use this psychic energy today, but without the level of control that B5 telepaths demonstrated. Lyta did not hurt people's ability when she applied her power. She more or less gave them a headache because they resisted her probing. Normally, the mind is a mass of information, seemingly unconnected to any pattern of cohesion. When a psychic enters that mind, the mass of information can be overwhelming. That means that the psychic has to organize and train the percipients thoughts to get reasonable data for its purposes. If the information does not conform to the quest of the psychic, the psychic may force the information and connect the dots to perceive a tiny bit of order from the percipient's consciousness. Very often, like in hypnosis, the mind gives up information that the psychic chooses to receive.

A child is amenable to direction from adults and older siblings. A little child is happy to serve and wants to help. Consciousness is the same way. It gives up what is hidden in order to make the seeker happy. Then it can rest without being bothered and go on in its normally, unorganized way. Memory is the same way. We can grab information from our selves in such a way as to not reorganize the unconscious, but to present out of that body of data, what is essential to our activities. Other information is not needed, not accessed and not used.

One thing about Lyta's ability, she could not, at first, (The Gathering) see more than a visual memory of the information in the other's mind. A telepathic/mind reader can get a lot of images to sort through and select the one that is closest to reality or manifest destiny. Lyta, as a trained telepath should have been able to see a false image for we all know reality in our unconscious. The image from Ambassador Kosh should have been distorted in some way as to show that it was a fake. This is the only reason I did not like "The Gathering". Under hypnosis, false images are real. A trained telepath/mind reader can discern that falseness.

Telepathy: The supposed ability to transmit thoughts directly to the mind of another, or to receive thoughts directly from the mind of another, without any normal causal interaction.

Another form of telepathy, loosely termed, is automatic writing, which Lyta also used in Thirdspace.

And mind reading: The faculty of discerning another's thoughts through extrasensory means of communication. Here we see that mind reading does not require an exchange between 2 or more individuals. More of mind reading is seen in B5 than actual telepathy. The mind is like a library holding volumes of information in no specific order, readily accessbile to the thinker and more difficult to access from an external force.

None of the above include the knower consciousness. The "Knower" is the superconscious self that knows all. It is the omniscient one within that possesses universal consciousness and reveals what the matter concerns to the seeker, being the individual conscious self. Truth teachers access the "Knower" to comprehend the highest and best for self and others. Access to the knower consciousness in the individual requires loving light rays. The inner light activates the mind to receive information from the superconscious self. Entities that apply love and light to mental processes reach deep within the Soul to activate infinite knowledge. The "Knower" is careful, in my opinion, to give that which builds and edifies. It is also called "The Christ Self" which is from the Greek or "The Messaih" which is the Hebrew/Aramaic. In modern times it is called "Avatar". The disciples of Jesus learned this secret/sacred/sanctity to serve 50 years or more after the advent. Others followed.

In Thirdspace, Lyta got a headache, which psychically means that something is wrong. It is a premontion that points to doom or loss of life for others. It takes the form of pain, usually, uncomfortableness or agitation from some unknown cause. It is like a psychic itching that you cannot scratch.

Gloves: "Phenomenon" movie with John Travolta: he was able to turn the pages of the book by only moving his hand with intent. Psychics have a lot of electrical energy in their bodies which is why there is an unwritten code to "never touch the body". If the other's intent is to harm, electricity can attack the idea or the person automatically so that the psychic is preserved. Psychics who produce such shocks to others' systems inadvertently, need to learn to control their excess energies with mental commands. These commands need to be embedded in that consciousness so that no other entites suffer from the shock of the person that produces it. It is not to be used as a weapon against others. As long as one remains relaxed, the energy will be channeled into conscious control.

Because psychics carry more electrical energy, they can achieve a magnetic connection to so-called inanimate objects. In 3rd space, the bots were able to respond to the artifact electronically and follow through on commands sent by the artifact. Similarly, we have seen Lyta and Talia apply telekinesis in their roles as telepaths. The artifact, like EBEs, contact the so-called worker class. Administrators and persons of authority, such as Zak, Delenn, Sheridan and Susan, are not telepathically affected in the course of their normal dutites. Even though, Susan had a dream of an encounter with the artifact and its existence in her life. Because she questioned it, she did not succomb to its advances like Vir did. It appears that minds that are bent on strategies and logic do not receive blanket information because they need to know, to learn, to comprehend before taking decisive action Susan was partially receptive to the artifact because she is a latent telepath. Perhaps, all that were receptive are latent telepaths, which aligns with parapsychological reasoning that all are psychic.

Another aspect of Earthlings is that they are essentially biocomputers. We use thought as receptors of information, we digest information and give it out as self expression. Thought is ESP. It is used like ESP everyday by every thinking being. Thought is our 6th sense and encompasses every detail of our actions through our bodies. However, unlike animals and insects, we choose our behaviors and reactions. Without brains, we cannot function, as is the case with certain types of cranial injuries. As a person is able to self heal, to a degree, a dog or cat or bird, is not.

Lyta has a white eye in Third Space. She is receiving in that mode of behavior, information that reveals a peaceful conclusion, a way out of a rock and a hard place. The white eye in mysticism is they 'Eye of Peace".

In "River of Souls", Lochley was transported to the captured Souls' world where she encountered Dr. Franklin. It was explained to her that seeing him gave her comfort. I add, assurance and confidence that the information was actual and reliable. Lochley experienced an NDE and because of the captured Souls, was returned to waking life to disclose valuable information that the Soul hunters used to bring peace to the station and to their and our existence.

Individuals who experience NDE are often given information of a superconscious nature, such as seeing departed relatives or friends, witnessing portions of the future eternity, and ways to heal or self heal. II Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Unknown to many people, this preceding Bible verse is actual, especially for those that have Near Death or Out of Body experiences. There is much information to be gleaned from that single event that persists in reminding the experiencer of ideas presented during that encounter. It is an individual choice for the experience to use the knowledge given in its own future. When the information is negative, being non-life fulfilling, the individual can choose to live on the same path of doom or change its conscious perceptions to breed life fulfilling ideas and portray them in thought, then action, as required. Subsequent experiences through the dream mind, the 4th dimensional mind, a recurring Near Death or Out of Body experience allows the individual to receive more superconscious information in the direction of consciously realized choices, for benefit or limitation and restriction of self and others.

Lochley was able to glean enough information to benefit the station and the captured Souls.

Other information of a psychic nature in River of Souls lets us see a group ascension, that is only mentioned in the Bible and Canon one time. Group ascension means the same as individual ascension that Moses, Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Elijah and others have shown us. The group, like these individuals and their followers, ascend into the sky as if being carried by clouds, except that the cloud takes their shapes and they fly as if they themselves are space vehicles. B5 calls this 'evolving to the next level". These individuals are as vehicles and after their ascension, are called chariots (Elijah). From Elijah we get the term 'chariot' and we see in Ezekiel, there are other chariots that we have yet to study and become personally involved with.

In this sense, Lochley learned that the captured Souls were ascending into their chariot state before the Soul hunters captured them. As captured Souls, they evolved unknown and unrevealed potential besides the ability to ascend. Happily, Lochley's information helped them to find a path to follow that would eventually lead them into their infinite selves as ascended beings instead of just Soul beings.

To save a dying race, let them learn the ascension. The Higher body is able to carry great loads, self and others. With mutual cooperative action, the race can be spared devastation and survive mortal convention through supernormal performances.

Love bat: An individual in a stressful and trying situation can use the words "I love you" and "I forgive you", similar to the "Love Bat". This helps keep one consciously on the path of good will to all, boosts confidence and relieves the stress of the moment.

Soul hunters are somewhat telepathic. They know but tell not how they know. They are able to sense their objective, see occurrences related to their quest and appear at the moment of death to those Souls that they choose to capture for posterity. They enter the same mental process whenever they are in the vicinity of anyone who is about to expire. Not all Souls are worthy of capture when a Soul hunter is present. Having a Soul hunter present does not mean they will capture your Soul. They are quite selective and do not choose Souls at random.
