I believe parental guidance, as is recommended socially and is politically correct, parents do need to sit with their children when the TV is on, watch with them, and after, do a review for content, technical accuracy and education.
In the case of Babylon 5, I suggest going to the library and reading Tennyson. Using the internet to get an understanding of technology, how it works and similar priniciples of invention. Going to the library and reading about King Arthur and his courtesans.
Many years ago, my angels told me that "there is truth in everything, in every book, in every story, in fiction. Such as, Arabian Nights is a book of truth because of the wisdom that can be gleaned from the stories and events in the lives of the characters. Sinbad's seven journeys and the dance of seven veils are both representative of the seven life cycles of reincanation we are to embrace in order to achieve universal fulfillment, after which we move into the multiverses.
With this in mind, I learned to watch TV and movies to get at the truth. Love is true. Life is true. GOD is life, GOD is love. Not every romance is revelatory of what is true about Love, for romance is a transitory phenomenon for three dimensional entities. However, the power of love is in romance and that power is truth.
In Babylon 5 we have instruction,religion,information,costumes,political and social revelations and technological advances. Studying B5 brings us lessons, inspiration, knowledge about being goal oriented, encouragement in the face of a multitude of opposition.We see who we are, where we have been and where we are going. We find history both sequential of our past and predictable of our future.
The idea is to turn watching TV/movies into educational entertainment.
What I like about B5 is that we are actually seeing our history, as explained on this page personal what I call Solomon's revelation "There is no new thing under the sun". Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
In the following pages, there are episodes where I make comments, expanding on the ideas presented in the personal page. Additionally, I have added notes from other sources that make B5 ring true concerning our past history and future history.
